Your stay includes access to the private swimming hole and a little island in the middle of the creek, a private outdoor fire pit, all linen, kitchen facilities, and access to all Bush Camp facilities, including barbecues, pizza ovens, a commercial coffee machine shed, entertaining areas and fire pit areas. 

Yes, the Treehouse retreat is family-friendly and provides a safe and comfortable environment for children to enjoy nature, but remember that it’s your responsibility to make sure that they don’t burn themselves on the fire or fall down the stairs. 

While staying at the Treehouse retreat? While sightings aren’t guaranteed, the nearby Platypus pool is one of the best spots in Finch Hatton to see platypuses in the wild, they are 15 or more platypuses on this property.

And Dawn and dusk are the best times to see them in their natural habitat, which we preserve for them at the Platypus Bush Camp.  

As much as we like to encourage people to have a digital detox, we have satellite Internet available, and the Treehouse retreat is an incredible workspace.

We recommend bringing comfortable light clothing for summer and a jacket for winter, food supplies for self-catering, and a sense of adventure with a great attitude. 

Yes! We have one heart that can sleep five, one hut that can sleep three, and one hut can can sleep two. Larger groups stay at our Treehouse retreat.

In the common areas, we have electricity and areas to charge your phone and laptop,p but the heartless themselves have lanterns and fairy lights to keep things beautiful and simple.

Yes, all huts come with comfortable bedding, including sheets, blankets, and pillows.

Absolutely! Guests have access to a communal kitchen where they can prepare meals. If you have a lot of items that need to be kept cool please bring an esky as our fridge and freezer space is limited. 

We recommend bringing comfortable light clothing for summer and a jumper for winter, sturdy shoes for hiking, eco-friendly toiletries and a good attitude. 

We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak seasons, to secure your preferred site. However, we will always do our best to accommodate anyone who wants to stay after driving by.

Yes, we love animals as long as they are extremely well-behaved and kept on a leash at all times.

If you think that your pet is going to bark uncontrollably, aggressive with other animals, including the wildlife that’s here it’s best to leave them at home.

If the property is busy, we don’t allow pets in the swimming hole and ask that you pay a $5 fee per pet. 

As long as you are a nice person, you can stay as long as you like. 

Yes, bring your own fire pit if you like and just make sure you put all the ash into our main fire area.

Some sites have their own fire pit already and there are multiple fire pits and fireplaces for everyone to enjoy.

Wood is available to be purchased on site or feel free to bring your own. 

There is no phone service here in Finch Hatton Gorge however, we do have satellite Internet that works really well.

If there’s something important you need to do online or you need to get some work done, that’s no problem, but we are trying to do our bit at giving people a break from technology and talking to each other, so keep that in mind before you ask for the passwords.

We recommend three nights for you to really be able to enjoy the Platypus BushCamp, Finch Hatton Gorge and Eungella National Park. 

We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy periods, but we do accept walk-ins and try our best to accommodate even if we are busy. 

Yes, we have designated fire pits for campfires. Firewood can be purchased on-site or bring your own. 

Yes, we have clean flushing toilets and Hot rainforest showers that our guests absolutely love. 

It is the rainforest, so showers or rain can pass by, so make sure that your tent can handle the weather.

We don’t have a fridge available for camp guests, so make sure you have an esky, and if you come in winter, pack a jumper.

You most definitely can, and we can accommodate large and small groups of guests.

The space is perfect for retreats, so if you would like to hold an event or would like use the space to do something fantastic get in touch.

Yes, you can. It is a small space so parking is limited, but we are happy to host people during the day if we are not too busy. Give us a call or drop into the office. 

Normal cars can access the bush camp for 95% of the year, so don’t worry. There is a small 200m stretch of dirt road and a causeway where water is flowing over the road all year so remember to drive slowly through the water. If you’re worried park your car and come see us at the bushcamp, we are just up the road 300m on the right.
