The Treehouse Retreat is an absolutely stunning multi-level tree house that can comfortably accommodate larger groups of people or be reconfigured easily for events and classes. 

You are located high above the creek, and the views from both levels are incredible.

You can enjoy your own private island in the middle of the creek and a private swimming hole. 

This is a very special building and only available to very respectful people so all reservations need to be followed up with a phone call, and a deposit of $1000 is to be paid before arrival.

The Treehouse Retreat is luxury comfort overlooking the creek and your own private swimming hole and island in the beautiful rainforest of Finch Hatton Gorge.

The Treehouse retreat building fits in seamlessly with the natural surroundings, providing an authentic luxury treehouse experience with all the comforts.

Guest can enjoy the warm and inviting atmosphere complete with wooden interiors, large fireplace, custom made Chesterfield sofa overlooking the creek through the rainforest, dining table for 6, kitchenette with fridge and it’s all in an open plan setting with 180° views of the rainforest and creek and let’s not forget the private bathroom was flushing toilet with views of the creek as well.

There are two extremely comfortable bedrooms, one is up the stairs on the top story with 270° views of the rainforest and the crystal clear creek below, and the other is across a small bridge attached to the building. We can add more beds or mattresses on request.

The Treehouse retreat is perfect for couples, families or small groups looking for an intimate and secluded stay whilst still being in the midst of the Platypus Bush Camp.

The Treehouse retreat includes:

  • An upstairs main bedroom with a custom-made queen-size bed with a high-quality pillow top mattress, fans are provided and power outlets for charging any accessories you may have. 
  • Across the bridge attached to the main building is the first ever building built at the Bushcamp, it has a comfortable double bed and a little office area if you need to get some work done. 
  • Well-equipped kitchenette with fridge, air fryer and small gas burner and kettle for preparing tea and coffee. (We have a commercial coffee machine downstairs as well.) 
  • Downstairs, there is a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen that is shared with three other huts for you to cook any larger meals. 
  • A cozy and comfortable lounge area with views of the rainforest and creek.
  • A large indoor fireplace for those crisp winter nights, or sit outside at your private outdoor fire pit area. 
  • Large bathroom with flushing toilet and views of the rainforest and creek outside. 
  • We are off-grid and extremely eco-friendly however, the Treehouse retreat has all the comforts with minimal impact on the environment.

Guests staying at the Treehouse retreat have access to all the Platypus Bush Camp facilities, including swimming holes, outdoor and indoor entertaining areas commercial coffee machine, a pizza oven, Hot rainforest showers and a yoga/workout space.

There is also a sauna under construction and a magnesium spa bath, and your own private rainforest shower.

The Platypus Bush Camp is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the elusive Platypus, which is often spotted in our private viewing pool or even in our main swimming hole, where they often swim with the guests and crew.

Enjoy your morning coffee and watch the Ulysses butterfly and the rainforest pigeons from the lounge. I’ll go for a stroll and enjoy the lizards, the Wallabies and the abundance of birdlife everywhere you look.

The nearby Finch Hatton Gorge is only a 15-minute walk to the base of the trail, where the walking trails are well-kept and the views of the waterfalls and swimming holes our world world-class.
