    Fequently Asked Questions

How is the road and do I need a 4wd?

Normal cars can access the bush camp for 95% of the year, so don’t worry. There is a small 200m stretch of dirt road and a causeway where water is flowing over the road all year so remember to drive slowly through the water. If you’re worried park your car and come see us at the bushcamp, we are just up the road 300m on the right.

Can I pay to come as a day guest?

Yes, you can. It is a small space so parking is limited, but we are happy to host people during the day if we are not too busy. Give us a call or drop into the office.

Do you host retreats or events?

The space is perfect for retreats, so if you would like to hold an event or would like use the space to do something fantastic get in touch.

    Can I get married here?

You most definitely can, and we can accommodate large and small groups of guests.

What should I bring for my camping trip?

It is the rainforest, so showers or rain can pass by, so make sure that your tent can handle the weather.

We don’t have a fridge available for camp guests, so make sure you have an esky, and if you come in winter, pack a jumper.

Are there showers and toilets at the campsite?

Yes, we have clean flushing toilets and Hot rainforest showers that our guests absolutely love.

Are campfires allowed at the campsite?

Yes, we have designated fire pits for campfires. Firewood can be purchased on-site or bring your own.

Do I need to book a campsite in advance?

We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy periods, but we do accept walk-ins and try our best to accommodate even if we are busy.

How many nights should I stay to see everything?

We recommend three nights for you to really be able to enjoy the Platypus BushCamp, Finch Hatton Gorge and Eungella National Park.

Is there phone service or Wi-Fi?

There is no phone service here in Finch Hatton Gorge however, we do have satellite Internet that works really well.

If there’s something important you need to do online or you need to get some work done, that’s no problem, but we are trying to do our bit at giving people a break from technology and talking to each other, so keep that in mind before you ask for the passwords.
